Full name: Neven Subotić
Date of birth: 10 December 1988
Place of birth: Banja Luka, SFR Yugoslavia
Height: 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in)
Playing position: Centre back
Club: Borussia Dortmund
Subotić made his first-team debut at the very end of the 2006–07 season as Mainz were relegated from the Bundesliga. In the 2. Bundesliga the following year, he seized a starting role and quickly received high marks as one of the best young defenders in the league. After the 07/08 season was concluded Neven decided to join Borussia Dortmund. After some impressive defensive displays Dortmund were quick to secure Subotic to a new long-term deal, he accepted and is now contracted to the club until summer 2014.
Despite Subotic being a defender he managed 6 goals in 35 games during his first season with Dortmund. He has an extremely strong determination, and is very good mentally, we think he could easily cope with the high demands of the Premier League. The main features to Subotic is that he is a well built, strong player and is a good tackler and has also been noted for his ability to pass the ball. This feature has led some people to think he would be a good Defensive Midfielder player, this has yet to be tested. The promosing defender is often praised for his footwork, expecially for a player who stands at a tall 6'4.
If you are looking for a player to compare young Neven too then look no further than ex Dortmund player Christoph Metzelder, we're talking about the Metzelder before his injury's and when he infact played for Dortmund. Lets hope the same does not happen to a player who could well be one of the best defenders in the near future.
Which Premier League clubs would he suit?
Arsenal, Manchester United & Everton
Key Attributes Rating:
Tackling - 8/10
Marking - 7/10
Heading - 9/10

Verdict:
Neven Subotic is a player who we feel is very promisng and could be seen in the Premiership, Serie A or La Liga very soon. He has all the attributes to be a class centre back and at only 20 years old, the future looks very bright for this player. Watch this space!
