Milner can go - O'Neil
Aston Villa has revealed that James Milner wants to leave the club, and will not stand in his way, aslong as the right offer comes in. Manchester City had an offer rejected before the World Cup, falling short of Villa's valuation of the player.
Aston Villa boss, Martin O'Neil will be keen to get the best possible price for last seasons star player. It is thought Villa turned down a £25m bid before the World Cup.
O'Neil is not willing to keep a player against his will.
"I had a conversation with James before the World Cup and he intimated that he'd like to go," said the Villa boss."
It is thought that Aston Villa will look to hold out for around £30m for the England International.
"City made an offer but it did not meet our valuation. I'm sure matters will be resolved soon. James is back next week having had an extended holiday."
James Milner has attracted interest from Manchester City
Despite of already signing, David Silva from Valencia and Yaya Toure from Spanish champions Barcelona for around £25m, City remain interested, and are expected to complete a deal for Milner before the start of the season on August 14th.
