Chelsea banned from signing players until 2011

Chelsea have been banned from signing any new players until January 2011, hence unable to sign anyone in the next two transfer windows.

Chelsea were given the ban by FIFA after a complaint was sent in by Lens because of Chelsea's illegal signing of 17 year old Kakuta who used to play for the French side.

Man United made Ireland bid

Sunday Mirror reports that Man Utd have tried to sign Man City favourite Stephen Ireland. The rumour sounds unlikely but has this week sirculated in Manchester.

Mark Hughes and his Man City looks as if they will be in with a chance to fight for trophies this season, and with Ireland snubbing a possible move to rivals Utd, things are going in the right direction.

Wenger furious with decisions

Arsene Wenger was left frustrated by Arsenal's defeat by Manchester United and refused to go into detail about referee Mike Dean's performance.

The Arsenal boss was sent from the dug-out in stoppage time after kicking a water bottle in frustration when Robin van Persie had an equaliser ruled out after William Gallas had strayed offside.

Laporta 'Loves' Fabregas

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has reignited speculation over a move for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas by admitting his club "love" the midfielder.

The young Spaniard has been linked with the European champions all summer but currently remains at the Emirates, with both player and club insisting he is happy in north London.
