Clubs battle it out for Campbell signature
Newcastle, Sunderland and Arsenal are locked in a battle for the signature of 36 year-old Sol Campbell.
Wenger is still keen on securing the signature of Campbell, despite securing the signature of Laurent Koscielny.
Wenger has made it clear that he is keen to re-new the contract of Sol Campbell, having already lost Senderos, Silvestre and Gallas, who all ran out of contract this summer.
It is thought that Campbell's preference is to sign for the Gunners, however the sticking point is that Wenger has only offered Campbell a year deal, whilst Sol has recieved two year contract offers from Sunderland and Newcastle.
Campbell has also had talks with Scottish club Celtic, and is set to decide his future in the coming days, when he returns from his honeymoon.
Campbell to re-sign for Arsenal?
Sunderland manager, Steve Bruce has made no secret of his admiration for the 36 year-old
"He is somebody we are interested in and we hope we can do a bit of business," said Bruce.
Campbell however is still keeping his options open, when he last spoke to the media about his future, Campbell said: "I have to talk to Arsenal as well because they are still at the table. I have to talk to everybody.
